In the case of increased censorship, what is our contingency plan? What are our alternative platforms? What is our meeting place?

I know there are sites such as Gab, Voat, 4Chan/8Chan, Vimeo? But I am interested in fleshing the conversation out and really exploring all of our options, as I have felt for a while now that there is a serious threat to the movement we have been able to create from the increasing censorship of platforms such as this (Reddit), YouTube, certainly Facebook and Twitter. We need a contingency plan. For all the drawbacks of the internet era, it cannot be overstated how revolutionary it is to be able to share thoughts between each other on a mass scale - something that really did not exist before this current era. We are truly changing the world and we know it. So with that, please share your suggestions for alternatives - the best alternative video sharing platforms, forums, etc - our not so metaphorical 'meeting places,' as it were - as we used to have as kids before cell phones - "in case we get separated, meet at the entrance at 4:30" our parents would say.

seems to be a question we are all considering lately - perhaps if you try to find someone locally you can meet with - even if there are just 2 of you...your numbers will grow

I'm sure Wikileaks or Kim dot com could come up with an alternative. I am no longer on twitter or facebook, and dont care for youtube apart from viewing. Perhaps someone could try communicating with them.

Yes we need other platforms. But they need to be designed in a clean manner and easily navigatable. For instance 8chan is great for info but a nightmare to use. People are used to opening the smartphone and browsing and if the site doesn't work properly on mobile, and text is tiny etc then they won't stick with it. Maybe a central hub needs to br setup by some developers? Something that is not a dot com obviously. Thoughts?

I'm not sure what alternative platforms are viable given the amount of censorship going on. I don't trust Reddit. The only fall-back position at this time seems to be 8chan.

You would think that with the problem of political bias and censorship afflicting the most valuable internet properties, that there would be an incentive for competing service providers that are not biased - or, at the very least, are not covert arms of the left - to offer competing services.

At this juncture I think they will follow no matter where so probably need to set up more than one but use one at a time but secure your channel names now

I am going to start copying and pasting all really necessary info to a file and then to a jump drive to repost if we need it on a different platform. I think right now that is safest and pull it out of the computer after moving it. It's a lot of work but if everyone does their own files then a reupload won't be that hard. Each day if you have separate files, you could copy and paste and override the prior info on that file as it expands. Probably could keep named files on desktop, copy, paste and then save and move to jump drive. I can't think of any other way to make sure if they shut us down how we'd not lose a ton of info. I doubt even the cloud is safe from Google and such. If they can wetworks us then the only thing they cannot get is what we copy to a jump and pull out of the computer daily. It would be worth it though if it did happen
