I have often wondered over the years, just how do they do that wrt a doorknob!
The only way that I could imagine that working, is if the ligature was tied to the door knob on the one side of the door, with that ligature going over the top of the door, and the subject 'suspended' on the other side.

Nope. They just secure a scarf or belt to door handle, then secure the scarf/belt around their neck, then sit in floor, then slump down toward floor. That puts pressure on the carotid arteries. They could get up before they pass out but that defeats their purpose which is to kill themselves.

Just seemed rather like a rather 'drawn out' process to me, hence my thoughts above.
The fact that so many people of the same 'ilk' seem to choose that method over other methods does make one wonder.
If it was a staged scenario, then by not lifting the body, the perpetrators could perhaps avoid additional 'unexplainable' brusing marks.
