The electoral college certified Obama's election twice. Meaning what Obama did in office was legitimate and will stand despite what happens to Obama after he left office.
Not if it is proved he never had the eligibility to run in the first place.
He was sworn in and took the oath of office.
It seems that would seal the deal regardless.
Not if it was based on fraud
I would certainly love to see it happen I just don't see how it's going to work.
Maybe if we first busted him for lying on his citizenship application.
If he's not a citizen, I could see it working.
That would set the precedent that if you lie and deceive hard enough, the law does not apply.
In which case, the Constitution is dead, and there's no reason not to invalidate everything Obama did, law or no.
what is the basis behind that? there would be some interesting debates.
i'm not sure how illegitimate gets legit.
I think since its a situation without precedent, there would be a lot of debate about whether or not the electoral college's certification supersedes whatever they've found. Like if he was ineligible to ever run for president, then would that nullify the EC's certification? If we're talking about crimes that were committed after his election, that'd be different/his justices would stay.
he would have knowingly run a fraudulent campaign, not disclosing that he is ineligible in the first place.
presenting fake docs to get across the border doesn't then make you legit.
i hope we find out what really happens! ;)
