Kremlin confirms Carlson has interviewed Putin

The footage is being prepared for broadcast, spokesman Dmitry Peskov told journalists

Russian PresidentVladimir Putin met with US journalist Tucker Carlson on Tuesdayfor an interview, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told a daily media briefing on Wednesday. The American had announced the imminent release of the footage hours earlier.

The Russian official declined to say when exactly the public will be able to see the interview and would not comment on its contents. He noted that being an American, Carlson was neither pro-Russian nor pro-Ukrainian in terms of his attitude to the Ukraine conflict, which is expected to be the focus of the interview.

Nonetheless, Peskov pointed out that the interviewer’s position contrasts with the one that dominates Western media, which is why the Kremlin had granted his request. The Kremlin spokesman added, however, that Carlson is wrong when he claims that Western news outlets haven’t bothered to seek an interview with the Russian leader.

Western mainstream mediacannot claim “even the appearance of impartiality” on Ukraine and “all have a one-sided position,”Peskov explained.Moscow has “no desire” to communicate with themand doubts that anything good would come out of it,he said.

Earlier, The Wall Street Journal reported that Carlson will likely publish his production on Tuesday, citing “people familiar with the matter.”

Carlson has vowed that his talk with Putin will bereleased uncut on his streaming platformand will not be paywalled. He said it was important for the American public to hear what the Russian president had to say, because the stakes of the Ukraine stand-off were very high.

He claimed other Western media outlets were not doing a proper job informing the public about Moscow’s position, misleading them on why the US and its allies were spending taxpayer money on supporting Kiev. Elon Musk, the owner of X (formerly Twitter) promised Carlson that the interview would not be suppressed on the platform, he added.

Critics claim that Carlson is sympathetic to the Russian cause. Former US Congressman Adam Kinzinger, who is pro-Ukrainian, branded him “a traitor” in an X post and launched a mock poll on whether the journalist was on Putin’s payroll.

Even before Carlson confirmed his plans, neoconservative writer Bill Kristol urged the authorities to prevent him from returning home, “until our country’s representatives can figure out what is going on.”

Carlson predicted that Western governments“will certainly do their best to censor”him because “they are afraid of information they can’t control.”

Russia strikes Ukrainian defense industry facilities – MOD

Enterprises producing naval drones and various types of missiles were hit, the Defense Ministry in Moscow has said

Russia has carried outmajor missile and drone strikesagainst Ukrainian military-industrial facilities, the Defense Ministry in Moscow has announced.

The attack, which took place early on Wednesday, targeted Ukrainian enterprises involved in theproduction of naval drones, coastal missile systems, munitions for multiple rocket launch systems, and explosives, according to a statement by the ministry.

It was carried out with the use of high-precision long-range air and sea-based weapons, as well as aerial drones, it added.

The goal of the strike has been achieved. All targets were hit,” the ministry stressed.

As for the situation on the front line, the figures provided by the ministry suggest that Ukrainian forces have lost at least 1,055 troops in the past 24 hours.

The Russian military was able to further improve its positions in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), the statement read.

The Russianair-defense forces shot down a Ukrainian MiG-25 fighter jetnear the village of Alekseevka in DPR, the ministry said. Elsewhere along the contact line, two US-supplied M777 towed howitzersand an AmericanPaladin self-propelled gunwere destroyed along with other hardware, it added.

Earlier on Wednesday, there were media reports that Poland’s military had scrambled its F16s in the southeastern part of the country due the Russian strikes on Ukrainian targets.

“Intense activity of Russian long-range aviation associated with missile strikes on Ukrainian territory” was observed, the Polish Operational Command said in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

It was later reported that the jets had returned to base. The command said the military “monitors the situation in Ukraine on an ongoing basis and remains constantly ready to ensure the safety of Polish airspace.”

Some Ukrainian news outlets and social media accountsreported explosions in the Ukrainian capital Kiev, the country’s second-largest city Kharkov, Nikolaev, Dnepropetrovsk (known as Dnepr in Ukraine), and other locations on Wednesday.

Musk responds to calls for Tucker Carlson’s arrest

Anyone demanding that the journalist be detained for interviewing Vladimir Putin should themselves be arrested, the billionaire has argued

Anyone calling for the arrest of US journalist Tucker Carlson over his plan to interview Russian President Vladimir Putin should themselves be detained, billionaire Elon Musk has suggested.

Carlson arrived in Moscow last weekend, saying he intended to show Americans an unfiltered Russian position on the Ukraine conflict and the broader tensions between Moscow and the West. The former Fox News host accused the mainstream media of failing to provide the full picture due to political reasons, and said Musk had promised not to suppress the distribution on X (formerly Twitter) of his planned interview with Putin.

There has been speculation about the potential risks to Carlson in his homeland due to his trip to Russia. Malaysia-based conservative blogger Ian MilesCheong has suggested that he “could become the next Julian Assange,” noting that “politicians and establishment media shills” have been calling for Carlson’s arrest.

“Arrest those calling for his arrest!” Musk responded in a post on X.

WikiLeaks founder Assange is currently in a British prison, fighting a US extradition request. Washington has indicted him with crimes related to the way whistleblower Chelsea Manning obtained classified materials on the US military campaigns in Iraq and Afghanistan, some of which were damning for the American government.

Supporters say Assange, who has not had full freedom since 2012, is being persecuted by the US and its allies for exposing their dirty secrets. He was jailed in 2019 after Ecuador revoked the political asylum that had allowed him to stay at the country’s embassy in London, enabling British law enforcement to arrest him.

Some public figures in the US have accused Carlson of harboring sympathies for Putin, and of intending to spread “Russian propaganda”by interviewing him. Even before the goal of Carlson’s visit to Moscow was confirmed, neoconservative writer Bill Kristol urged the US government to prevent the journalist from returning home, “until our country’s representatives can figure out what is going on.”

Carlson has insisted that he does not like the Russian leader, but said it is important for the American public to hear Putin’s views on the Ukraine conflict and the tensions between Moscow and Washington, considering what’s at stake. He also accused the American government of trying to prevent him from interviewing Putin, a notion that White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre dismissed as “ridiculous.”

Haley makes history in Nevada primary

With Trump not being on the ballot, his GOP challenger lost by double digits to “none of these candidates” in a national first

US presidential candidate Nikki Haley has received the support of just over 30% of registered Republican voters in a state-organized primary election in Nevada, according to preliminary results on Tuesday, with two-thirds of the votes counted.

With frontrunner Donald Trump absent from the ballot, the “none of these candidates”option was picked by more than 60%of the voters. In accordance with state law,Haley was nevertheless declared the winner.

The GOP is set to separately hold a party caucus on Thursday night, in which Trump is expected to get the backing of all 26 state delegates. The Republican leadership opposed Nevada’s 2021 decision to set up primary elections for both parties and said it will continue using caucuses for the nomination process. The two-trek selection left many GOP voters confused, as they couldn’t find Trump’s name on the ballot, US media reported.

Haley’s campaign downplayedthe outcome, stating that she did not campaign in Nevada because the entire processwas “rigged for Trump,” according to her spokeswoman Olivia Perez-Cubas. Trump declared Tuesday a “bad night” for Haley and predicted that “she’ll soon claim victory,” reacting on his Truth Social platform. (Haley didn’t even attempt to caucus, she just used this fake primary that the RINOs set up. She tried to rig itand lost against herself, “but sure it was rigged”!)

Despite its largely symbolic nature, therejection of Haley’s candidacyby Nevadans became the latest blow for the former South Carolina governor. It was her third consecutive loss in an early-state primary contest and the first ever case of a US presidential candidate being defeated by an unlisted rival. Previously Haley ended third in Iowa and second in New Hampshire. She is set to face Trump in her home state on February 24.

On the Democratic side, incumbent President Joe Biden secured nearly 90% of the vote. Some 150,000 people cast their ballots personally or by mail-in in both primary elections, corresponding to13% turnout, according to the office of Nevada State Secretary Francisco Aguilar. (Those are pathetic numbers. Joe lost too!)

Trudeau accused of ‘lying’ about inviting WWII Nazi veteran to Zelensky event

Opposition leader Pierre Poilievre has urged Canada’s prime minister to resign

Conservative Party of Canada leader Pierre Poilievre has accused Prime Minister Justin Trudeau of deceiving the public about his role in the honoring of a former Ukrainian Waffen-SS soldier last year.

Poilievre made his comments afterTrudeau’s office confirmedto Canadian media on Tuesdaythat it had invited the 98-year-old Yaroslav Hunkato attend last year’s reception of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky in Toronto. During World War II, Hunka served in Nazi Germany’s 14th Waffen Grenadier Division of the SS.

According to Trudeau’s spokesman Mohammad Hussain, Hunka did not attend the Toronto event. In September 2023, however, he received a standing ovation in the House of Commons in Ottawa, with Trudeau and Zelensky present in the chamber. The recognition of a man who had fought in Adolf Hitler’s army immediately caused a scandal, forcing House of Common Speaker Anthony Rota to resign. Trudeau apologized at the time for the “terrible mistake” of having “unknowingly” honored Hunka.

In a statement on Tuesday, Poilievre’s spokesman Sebastian Skamski said that the prime minister “has been caught lying.”

“Instead of admitting that he and his office personally invited a Nazito an official prime ministerial reception with the Ukrainian president,he has lied for monthsto the Canadian people and has blamed everyone but himself,” the spokesman said.

During the question period in the House of Commons, Poilievre remindedTrudeau that he had urged Rota to resignand asked if he would step down as well. “He said that the former speaker had to resign over doing the exact same thing. So will he hold himself to the very same standard and admit that he’s not fit for office?”the conservative politician said.

Responding to Poilievre,Trudeau did not addressthe Rota scandal directly, andinstead accused the conservatives of “abandoning Ukraine” and not standing with Ukrainian Canadians. Trudeau’s office issued a statement, reiterating the PM “had no knowledge” of Rota until he was invited to the chamber.

(Make Canada less Gay Again, fire Trudeau!)

Ex-Russian president warns NATO of ‘Apocalypse’

The West should tell its citizens the “bitter truth” about what would happen if the bloc clashes with Moscow, Dmitry Medvedev says

A full-scale war between Russia and NATO would leave Moscow with no choice but to deploy its nuclear assets, former president Dmitry Medvedev has said. He reiterated, however, thathis country is not seeking a conflict with the US-led military bloc.

Writing on Telegram on Wednesday, Medvedev, who now serves as deputy chairman of Russia’s Security Council, pushed back against statements by numerous Western leaders urging their countries to prepare for a potential conflict with Moscow.

Russia has repeatedly said it has no plans of staging a conflict with NATO and the EU, he noted, despite the lattercontinuing “a dangerous drivel”on the issue. He suggested that this narrative is designed todivert the attention of Western voters away from massive spending on aid for Ukraine– an effort he said many have already grown tired of.

Medvedev argued that this fatigue stems from Western leaders’ desire to help “a dying country that is foreign to taxpayers,” while neglecting social problems at home. “Therefore, every day the leaders of these countries broadcast: We need to prepare for war with Russia and continue to help Ukraine,”he said.

However, Medvedev warned that a possible Moscow-NATO war would be drastically different to the Ukraine conflict and would not rely on the use of artillery, tanks, and drones. He noted that the alliance has a combined population of nearly one billion people and defense spending reaching $1.5 trillion, making it far superior to Russia.

Since our military capabilities are incomparable,we will simply have no choice. The response will be asymmetrical. To protect the territorial integrity of our country, ballistic and cruise missileswith special warheads will be used… This will be the proverbial Apocalypse. The end of everything.

Against this backdrop, he urged Western politicians to tell their voters the “bitter truth”about what would happen in the event of war with Russiainstead of “treating them like brainless idiots.”

Russian officials have repeatedly said they have never threatened to use nuclear weapons, but have noted that they could be deployed if the very existence of the state were threatened. In December, Russian President Vladimir Putin also said Moscow “has no interest… geopolitically, economically or militarily… in waging war against NATO.”Russia, however, has argued that the bloc’s expansion towards its borders poses an existential threat.

(He’s not wrong)

Mike Davis said last night the Immunity issue is a set up for the SC. If they vote for Immunity, the left will start their all out attack on the SC, packing the court, trying to remove the most conservative ie Thomas, Gorsuch etc. Or other plans they’ve bern working on for years. It seems they set up these ridiculous cases not only to take Trump down, but the SC. The overruling Roe vs Wade accelerated their attacks. Moloch must be fed

I think you are on to something, the SC is being targeted, the lower courts are doing this intentionally, making illegal decisions to force the SC to get involved.

It’s not only “Get Trump” but also get control of the SC and fill it with leftists. They will fail, but it’s all treachery. The 5D chess on both sides must be on their game.

When Trump has won, every Judge in DC courts and circuit and appellate court needs to be purged, and the judges disbarred. I hope someone is writing down all their names.

Interesting question, I think it would be determined back to the time they started showing they were illegal and if it can be proven they ruled against conservatives mostly.

Don’t know how that would done. They’d have to research for years. Maybe the court would allow all the cases that were treated unfairly would be allowed to bring their case. But that would be very difficult too. Maybe only the most important cases.

Maybe being disbarred is enough punishment for them, unless they were canned for bribes or worse. It certainly would open a huge can of worms.

But something has to happen with the Court Cartel in the US
