The problem with Jesus is all the other baggage that is associated with him. The religion the dogma the prophecy of ancient mistranslated dead cultures. You can not even learn about Jesus unless you read the books they want you to read.
That is still terrible advice. Because the stories in that bible even though a decent translation are still based on ancient stories that were co-opted. Does not just apply to Jesus, but to the stories in the old testament as well. Especially the oldest ones. They are direct copies of older stories except bits and pieces have been changed by scribes so long ago that the characters and locations got mixed up. you could do something like that, in fact that is what I did initially. That is also how I came to my current position that the bible is a piece of literature that is used to sublimate and control a group of people. Same goes for the Torah and Quran. The problem is however some words do not have real translations and the words Some words have been mistranslated by people and many more words do not have any real translation just what a scribe thinks it means. You then have to read over those words and see what is being talked about. The most dedicated believers are the worst at knowing what their books are about. They do not research it because they already accept it as true, 100% true and verified. They have no questions because theirs have already been answered so they never question what they have been GIVEN.
