MORE: New York City trial by Alvin Bragg against Trump is now being delayed at least 30 days because Bragg Withheld at least 70,000 pages of documents from SDNY United States Attorney about Michael Cohen. Bragg KNEW the material existed, but failed to produce them in discovery, causing Trump's team to have to subponea them. By sheer volume the subponea took 3 months to begin answering (as opposed to the 3 years it took for my FOIA response I just got for 9,000 pages). Bragg claims the delay of 3 months was Trump's fault, but discovery in criminal matters is the prosecutor's responsibility, even if Defendants attempt to get the same records. If the Defendant makes the prosecutor aware relevant records exists they must make every effort to secure the records and turn them over for discovery. Bragg claims he attempted to get the records but the SDNY USAttorney refused -highly unlikely given that they immediately began complying with Trump's subponea.
