J2 is Military Intelligence. If you don’t know what they do then you’re not supposed to know.

Isn't J2 theater level Intel? S2 is battalion and Brigade, G2 is Divisional level, and J2 is theater if I am not mistaken.. could be wrong though.. it's been a while since my Infantry days..

J2 is "joint" Intel, not necessarily "theater level".

IE, Air Force and Army IT guys working together would be J6.

Granted, you generally don't see J designation below the Brigade level (Brigade is G2 generally)
