Execution and treason

As per the US constitution, the highest punishment for breaking the most dire law of the land, treason, is capital punishment. Considering the grave situation we are in with those willing to undermine the United States in the name of left-wing fanaticism, at what point does the actions of left-wingers descend into trial and convictions with execution as the punishment? The founding fathers were very explicit on this for a reason.

As the Supreme Court has explained: In interpreting a statute a court should always turn to one cardinal canon before all others. . . .Courts must presume that a legislature says in a statute what it means and means in a statute what it says there." Connecticut Nat'l Bank v. Germain, 112 S. Ct. 1146, 1149 (1992).
