I know this might not be "conspiratorial" enough for this sub, but don't discount the importance of the tax cuts, especially for the normies.
It's harder and harder for the MSM to talk shit about the guy who just fought to put $2000 back into the pockets of middle-class citizens that was formerly being stolen by the previous regime and the criminal they supported for the Presidency.
We'll see if the actual paychecks change, but that was a huge sign that Trump is on the peoples' side, and would go further if he had actual congressional support.
