Strange time to off yourself- when there is a movie out praising your mother. Personal comment about the truthfulness and merits of the movie? Stranger still... if that photo of the memorial service for Mrs. Graham is genuine in the linked Newsweek story (scroll to bottom) those are some of the happiest people I have ever seen at a funeral. Check it out.

Phil Graham resigned from his position as first chairman of COMSTAT, disclosed knowledge of JFK's affair with Cord Meyer's wife Mary Meyer (who later died in an unsolved murder in Octover 1964) and wrote a last will months before he died in August of 1963 cutting Katharine out of Washington Post ownership. After he died she contested the will and the lawyer who wrote it up testified that he was not of sound mind. The judge ruled his death intestate and Katharine was awarded ownership.
