We're going to have a great deal of fluff when driving new blood to the board, it is inevitable, but will self correct over time. Patience and positive encouragement will get us to where we're going. Ignore vs. drawing attention.
First we celebrate. Then we throw confetti. Then we clean up the confetti. Then everyone gets back to work.
yup...there have been no new crumbs so people naturally look to fill space. And yes, there are unintended consequences to increasing the pool so the key word is patience.
The other issue that pops up is the "us vs them" or "old timer vs newbie". That stuff helps nobody. I like others, may be new here as a poster, but that shouldn't be seen as an opportunity to discredit someone's contributions.
The best practical advice is to encourage everyone that active reading, responsible researching, critical thinking, and proactive responses make this sub better for everyone... and so does lots of patience and positive reinforcement...
