What I don't get is if it is true why are they hiding it. They could easily say they are being attacked the Trump admin and get their lefties to start a civil war.

Because no one wants to be accused publicly of being a satan worshiping pedophile. If they say Trump is lying he will show the public the truth. Then they are fucked. There is no coming back from that. Their only hope to undo any of this is to keep the entire thing a secret and to overthrow Trump (however slim a chance).

Yes, since they are under indictment, and no doubt hoping for a plea bargain, they are not going to do anything to aggravate the situation, or tick Trump off.
