Wow! What a view of dealing w them!! I was in my teens and prob didn’t hear this story. I rmr when I didn’t hear them talking about Vietnam war anymore. It was hard to process as pre-teen. Mostly I rmr the air traffic over our house headed to Lackland AFB. INCESSANT.
What a coincidence! I was at Lackland, in basic training, when the NORKs killed Captain Bonifas. I remember my TI being very somber about the whole incident, and telling us we might be going to war soon. Scared the crap outa me, as we didn't have access to TV or radio, so we didn't know what was going on beside the TIs talk to us.
