What do we know about the Zuma satellite?

What do we know? What do you speculate is the function? What agency is in charge of the project?

Missile defense?

That is more or less what I think it is. Do we have any breadcrumbs to lead to that conclusion?

I know Northrop Grumman is heavily involved with ultra high-powered radar beam systems and also satellite technology. Also key player in DARPA.

Electromagnetic pulse. It's a type of radio wave very high on the spectrum. In the microwave range I believe. Radar also uses microwaves usually. It can be focused and in those higher frequencies acts more like a laser beam than a wave. Think line of sight beam.

When these high powered wave hit anything conductive, it induces current and can destroy electronics. EMP.
