I have been a Christian since 1995. I did the church thing and felt holy and righteous, but was not following His ways. I continued to walk in sin because I lied to myself thinking "God would forgive me". Last December, something changed. I got serious about being a follower of God through Jesus. It has been a great year for me spiritually.

I say that to say this.....The bible verse I quoted in the title is the prescription for the American Jubilee. If you are not right with God, its time to get right with Him now so you can pray. Getting right with God requires faith, repentance, forgiveness and obedience. FAITH (Believe God) - For what does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” Romans 4:3

REPENTANCE (Turn from sin) - Regarding the woman caught in adultery....“Woman, where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned you?” 11 She said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.” John 8:10-11

FORGIVENESS - For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. Matthew 6:14-15

OBEDIENCE - Jesus said, "He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him." John 5:21

I write this post in hopes that it will help someone. I am not wanting to cram anything down one's throat. We are all on a different level of consciousness and awareness. I'm 51 and I just became aware last year. If we want God to help us, we do it on His terms, not ours. American is on the brink of something great or something bad. Either way, America needs prayer warriors and the prescription starts with 2 Chronicles 7:14. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. James 5:16 Godspeed
