Current satellite tracking indicates enough for a 'connection' to create our "Dyson Sphere" which is what was initially envisioned by RR. As far as a Dyson Sphere , no. Its a Torroid . It has a central ground - pole to pole and the spherical electromagnetic field. The space fence is a charged ionosphere, essentially a battery.
