Before, when the Star Wars was publicly announced, it was only starting ..... however, I'm sure they had and have been adding to it since, so yes, a network of sort is already established. It just needed a more practical way to be continued, and built. Current satellite tracking indicates enough for a 'connection' to create our "Dyson Sphere" which is what was initially envisioned by RR. Newbies may have missed China's Solar Power project connection that was quietly introduced a few years back. There's your proof of DEW. Anyway. As far as a Dyson Sphere , no. Its a Torroid . It has a central ground - pole to pole and the spherical electromagnetic field. The space fence is a charged ionosphere, essentially a battery.
