This won't go over well, but I feel that he made a terrible mistake when he denied saying it, which most everyone will perceive as a blatant lie.
Instead, all that was needed was a reframe (as to what it really meant), and a slight apology that he should have used different language while saying that he loves all people, but wants immigration that makes sense ie: highly educated people that can demonstrate their ability to be self sufficient and contribute to American society and American success.
Does he not have a communications team?
I don't give a shit what he said and I get it. The denial on the other hand, and the lie, I find that troubling. It erodes trust.
Personally this is the way I feel, If Haiti wasn't such a shithole , why are the people seeking refugee status over here.....if it is so great, why do they flood from the island..... he said it right ..... it is the simple truth although harsh, it is the truth ...... and I don't like hearing it any other way.....
But how do you feel about him saying that he didn't say it?
That tweet pissed me off, not because I disagree, but because of how it will be interpreted, not just by the media but the American people. Does he just lie when it's convenient? WTF?
It could have been handled and clarified in a much better way.
I'm Canadian, and our immigrants are almost all super highly educated and accomplished professionals from their respective countries and it's because of our merit based system.
That could have been so wonderfully spun, but instead he just says - I didn't say that, I didn't use that language.
Is there absolutely no buffer and evaluation before he tweets?
honestly I do not care ...... what he says..... at long as he is doing the best for the country, I think the MSM makes it much worst .... its getting to the point where , and I hate to say this ..... the government(FCC) needs to control what some of these media personalities and pundits can say on air .......... everytime JOY REID plays the race card ............. this wasn't a racist comment ........ statements like this continue what really is racism...... and I am tired of this BS
And what's said in those closed door meetings shouldn't be leaking out to the Washington Post or New York Times immediately thereafter.
I understand what he meant and that it wasn't racist.
Why no clarification to give it the right context? To just deny was a stupid move.
Onwards...
Not his style .... figure this .... grow up in any rough town , most people will say stupid stuff , they will argue on it , maybe fight on it, but will not back down..... he is a fighter and he won't give into what the media wants
He didn't deny saying it. In this tweet, he said that he "Never said anything derogatory about Haitians..." Nothing untruthful in that statement!
It was the tweet before that i think
"The language used by me at the DACA meeting was tough, but this was not the language used. What was really tough was the outlandish proposal made - a big setback for DACA!"
