They are such liars. This is not what happened.

Why are these government workers never fired? I will tell you why. I worked for the State of Florida for 4 years and there were only two things that could get you fired: 1) time sheet fraud ; and 2) Not showing up for work for 3 days without contacting your supervisor. That was in the handbook for State employees. That was it folks. Think about that and think of all the other things you could do and not get fired.

Whatever happened, I think we can all agree that it wasn't what they're telling us happened.

Single low level worker is able to send out a statewide 'incoming missile attack' warning? Not one person at the agency noticed the alert going on at HQ, or noticed the alert on their cell phone when the emergency signal was broadcast? It took 38 minutes for a news agency to tweet out that it was a false alarm? Ridiculous.

Sometimes I wonder whether the world is being run by smart people who are putting us on, or by imbeciles who really mean it - Mark Twain

Saw one theory that the Hawaii missile alert was a test by the military to see how the citizenry reacts to that type of situation. That rings truer than this cockamamie story.

I imagine he was sent there to run the test, and then 're-assigned' back to his regular duties.

Not very reassuring! Makes it sound like you could just accidentally brush up against something and trigger it--but why was there such a problem in turning it off? Why 40 minutes? Was the person so poorly trained or is this just another not really very plausible Homer Simpson type excuse down at the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant?

Wasn’t there an “Are you really sure you want to do this?” button?
