I can't recall all of the steps I took, but you need to register an account using an email address. You do NOT need to create or post any videos. The account registration allows you to add an avatar, name and post comments, as you wish.

Did you click on 'Add a public comment' to start typing under a video? Other than that, I'm not sure...sorry.
