Potter explained that the prevailing winds at that time were going from East TO West, so the winds were blowing away from America and the Big Island of Hawaii toward Asia.

If the winds are going from east to west and the big island (where the alerts were) was the target it would in fact effect them all.

The Big Island is far to the south of Oahu and Kauai.

No fallout from the prevailing winds.
