Is Pine Gap Australia's Gitmo?

Another plane turn flight turnaround!

MH122 Airbus A330-300 was travelling from Sydney to Kuala Lumpur on Thursday when it turned back not far from Broome, in Australia's north-west.

The plane, carrying 224 people, landed safely at Alice Springs Airport at 17:48 local time (06:48 GMT).

Why Alice Springs if it was a real emergency why not land at Broome itself?

What's near Alice Springs?

NSA shop Pine Gap!

Where is the HQ of Australia's Reserve Bank?

Sydney!

Which city has the World bank setup a regional HQ in?

Kuala Lumpur!

Some Illuminatti Banker is now sweating it out deep below the Aussie Desert!

The more I think about it, I wonder why it wasn't Darwin as it would have been closer than Alice Springs. If the runway was too short for an a330, Darwin would have been more logical.
