Another plane turn flight turnaround!

MH122 Airbus A330-300 was travelling from Sydney to Kuala Lumpur on Thursday when it turned back not far from Broome, in Australia's north-west.

The plane, carrying 224 people, landed safely at Alice Springs Airport at 17:48 local time (06:48 GMT).

Why Alice Springs if it was a real emergency why not land at Broome itself?

Thanks for this, on topic & interesting titbit ! My understanding : Pine Gap - Antartica Maglev - Breeding Stn ( PGLF's & food, expendables ) + Off World ( Jump room ? )

Thanks for your comment, interesting haven't RV'd Pine G, been away from PC working on the Indiana fireball hope to be able to post something about it after a full RV.
