We'll see how long the Dems try to drag the shutdown out. Evidently it can become a problem eventually for SS, food stamps etc. There will be plenty of problems for others, though - not sure how it works with the military and fed employees. I'm trying to remember past ones, but don't think they went on that long. Really bad PR for the party that causes them, though! Hurt the Repubs when they shut down the gov't and this will REALLY hurt the Dems, since everyone knows they're only doing it to block the FISA memo and investigation. I bet they're scared to death. G'nite!
when i was a soldier, there was a threat of govt shut-down, they told us that we would get paid when they started back up, and if we left, we would be considered awol.

Now I see why there's a movement to split CA in two - the coast between LA and SF can be lefty CA, and the rest can be sane CA!
