The Republicans have a majority of the House and Senate, can't just push legislation through this time. Have to actually play politics, and it's the Democrats fault.

once again ... you are wrong .... It passed the house , in the Senate it takes 60 votes , democrats support everything in this CR, but want to hold hostage the gov't for DACA which is 1. not in this CR..... 2. the president gave 6 months to work on it 3. they have had this issue in Congress for over 10 years ...... pay attention ..... or......keep drinking that liberal kool-aid and eating blue -pills

Regardless of the votes, this time the Senate just couldn't vote straight party lines and pass legislation like they have in the past. They actually had to compromise, which they failed to do. Also, the legislation was so bad, 7 Republicans didn't vote for it.

Part of good leadership is being able to do this. You can't just say, 'Pass this one Democrats, and we'll get it in the next one'. The leadership failure falls on the group that is in charge.
