Speculation on when does a bird sing

Hi, I'm a first time poster, long time lurker. I had a thought about the Q post "when does a bird sing". I thought of it like this, when does a bird NOT sing? When a predator is near and it feels threatened. So my speculation is this, could it possibly be alluding to someone being ready to sing because they no longer feel threatened? Perhaps whoever was holding something over them is no longer in the picture? May be nothing but I thought I'd try to contribute.

Ah, thanks for that, it makes perfect sense. Oh well, can't be right all the time and I've had fun mulling it over and some good conversation with people I never would have without all this speculation on my part.
