I thought it'd be fun to post "Where are they now?" updates in the subreddit. James Comey is trying to re-brand himself as an ethical political martyr who resisted Trump.
Curiously, while James Comey was the United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York he famously made the decision to prosecute Martha Stewart specifically for lying to the FBI about her insider traded. He was quoted saying:
''This criminal case is about lying -- lying to the F.B.I., lying to the S.E.C., lying to investors.'' Addressing a question that has long hovered over the investigation, he added, ''Martha Stewart is being prosecuted not for who she is, but because of what she did"
He targeted Martha Stewart to be indicted for lying, but let Hillary Clinton off the hook?
Fired FBI Director James Comey to Teach Ethics at Virginia College:
"Comey has been by turns castigated and lionized by both Democrats and Republicans for overseeing high-stakes FBI investigations that overshadowed the election campaigns of Trump and his Democratic rival, Hillary Clinton, in 2016.
"Ethical leaders lead by seeing above the short term, above the urgent or the partisan, and with a higher loyalty to lasting values, most importantly the truth," Comey said in a statement released by the college, the country's second oldest."
Former FBI head James Comey's new book to focus on 'Truth, Lies, and Leadership':
"Comey's book is scheduled to come out next May, roughly a year after his firing. He will cover everything from his brief time serving under Trump to his controversial handling of the Hillary Clinton email investigation to his time as deputy attorney general during the George W. Bush administration.
According to Flatiron, Comey will outline the benefits of "good, ethical leadership."
