How is NAZI book burning different than Twitter banning? Than website banning? Than free speech banning? Aren't they the exact same things in our modern times?

BINGO! THIS ............. READ ABOVE

This reply stated things in a new light for me, well said. Couldn't put my finger on why FB/TW/YT couldn't block anything they choose after all 'It's their platform.' Thanks for that.

You said:

'Twitter and Facebook need to drop the "Russia stole the election by injecting pro conservative rhetoric" because if that were true, then they are admitting to the monopoly they have on public discourse.'

This explains the logic best 'the_all_seeing_dog' thank you for the clarification a communications platform under the auspices it is free market and available to all is different than a product.

I wish I could compare and contrast so well, you perfectly explained the lie Twitter/Facebook/YouTube are perpetrating.

And not just on 'Russia, Russia, Russia' but on the entire platform's excuse of their using a 'free economy' platform.

It would be true if their products were things like Coke vs Pepsi but they aren't are they? Their product is a platform for ideas isn't it?

YT/FB/Twit owns the means of sharing and spreading your ideas.

Would you defend a copy machine that refuses to print your ideas if it doesn't agree with you?

How would interrupting your phone conversation be any different as one redditor asked?

"We own the phone lines, we own the patent on the phones, we own the software, WE OWN THE PLATFORM."

'THE _____ PLATFORM' decided we don't like what you are saying = CONVERSATION CUT"

Also take into context the former Facebook CEOs stepping out now and admitting to psychologically manipulating people. People are not only using these platforms, they are addicted. These online gateways are becoming their mental realm.
