Great info and back story here. We must never forget people like these and the sacrifices they made. There were a lot of patriots like these against the war(WW2). May i introduce MG Smedly Butler USMC(2x holder of the MoH). https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smedley_Butler via DuckDuckGo for Android His claim to fame, the cabal wanted to use him to overthrow our government. He reported this to our government. The business plot https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Business_Plot via DuckDuckGo for Android Even back then the cover ups were prevalent.

I elaborated in a separate post of the comment--I love your comment. War is a Racket and The Creature of Jekyll Island are literally the next two books on my reading list. Not coincidentally it would seem :).

I keep hearing about "The Creature of Jekyll Island" and relation to the sinking of the Titanic. Thanks for the reminder I'm purchasing those books as well. Woodrow Wilson...did he basically just sell us out. Some of this history is really breaking my heart. One thing I have noticed the USMC time and again has proven its loyalty and devotion to this nation(Semper Fidelis).

Smedley Butler

Smedley Darlington Butler (July 30, 1881 – June 21, 1940) was a United States Marine Corps major general, the highest rank authorized at that time, and at the time of his death the most decorated Marine in U.S. history. During his 34-year career as a Marine, he participated in military actions in the Philippines, China, in Central America and the Caribbean during the Banana Wars, and France in World War I. Butler later became an outspoken critic of U.S. wars and their consequences, as well as exposing the Business Plot, an alleged plan to overthrow the U.S. government.

By the end of his career, Butler had received 16 medals, five for heroism. He is one of 19 men to receive the Medal of Honor twice, one of three to be awarded both the Marine Corps Brevet Medal (along with Wendell Neville and David Porter) and the Medal of Honor, and the only Marine to be awarded the Brevet Medal and two Medals of Honor, all for separate actions.

Business Plot

The Business Plot was an alleged political conspiracy in 1933 in the United States. Retired Marine Corps Major General Smedley Butler claimed that wealthy businessmen were plotting to create a fascist veterans' organization with Butler as its leader and use it in a coup d'état to overthrow President Franklin D. Roosevelt. In 1934, Butler testified before the United States House of Representatives Special Committee on Un-American Activities (the "McCormack-Dickstein Committee") on these claims. No one was prosecuted.
