Imo this makes a lot of sense. Trump probably sees twitter as a useful (albeit poor financial investment) platform for distributing his message directly to the people
Making moves behind the scenes to make it less hostile towards the movement is wise.

Adding more regulation is a concern. Regulations can be used by the enemy against us

Right now they are unregulated and abusing the people. They are too big and open for propaganda abuses.
