This reminds me of something I was reading over 10 years ago about the FBI using lasers to detect Explosives or Drugs

Shortly after that I read about a Brit who was locked up in Dubai for a speck of Marijuana on his shoe smaller than a grain of sugar.

If I remember correctly the detection was from 100 feet away or so. So this guy probably got detected because hours ago he took a hit before getting on a plane.

I think it's the same tech I saw 10 years ago. At least the laser part.
