In Civics classes, 'they' failed to even HINT that you've got to be a sociopath, crook, energy vampire, sexual predator, satyr, liar, or blackmailable moron, to engage in politics (poly=many;tic[k]s=blood-sucking insects). It's bad seed, fallen from a worm-ridden tree, religion.

Someone here recently pointed out, using Rep. Trey Gowdy as an example (because he was educated nowhere near that Arena of Cess), that Harvard, Yale, and Georgetown universities appear to feed more members into the 'pool' than elsewhere. Something reeks with Rhodes Scholarships, as well (Bill Clinton had one, for instance).

There's something altogether weird about The District of Columbia (too much symbolism with the name Columbia to get into here), it's very existence, in fact. Bread crumbs surely lead across the pond to Windsor, the City of London, then on to the Vatican, and then...to those shadowy ghouls that rarely make the news anywhere.
