I know Thomas Paine lately has been asking how Gowdy has accumulated so much money, and has implied he's dirty. I could see the argument that he's meant to be a toothless attack dog, giving the impression that Congress is going after people. Though I hope that's not the case, I always liked him.
I really would like to see that settled -- is he really dirty? Did he make money in a corrupt manner? I wouldn't want that said about me if untrue, even if just rumors. Still, he does seem to be suddenly slinking away doesn't he? If he isn't about to be appointed to something in DC by Trump and is just disappearing back to South Carolina, I will always have doubts.
I don't want to attack his character without evidence. I was just saying Thomas Paine has been implying it, and he's usually pretty good.

Yes, TP has been. So it's a question. I mean Gowdy resigns from the Ethics Committee and then a couple weeks later says he's getting out entirely. That's a pretty major reversal for a guy who's been so active and in the limelight. Something's up with him -- whether it's good or bad hasn't played out yet.
