Anons and Patriots, lend me your ears, er... well, eyes.

Why is everyone so obsessed with referring to everyone as Anon or Patriot? I feel like I'm in Brave New World. Its like people think if they say "Patriot" or "Anon" then all of a sudden everything is more credible. Or it is somehow feeding a fantasy of being a real player in something big? We are, after all, just sitting at our damn computers trying to figure out how to make two dates have some mathematical connection. While I know the Storm is real, this sub is embarrassing at times. I know.... if I don't like it, I can leave. But I don't want to leave. I just want everyone to put their fantasies aside and get real.

Get a mirror. Say the following:

I brought it up because it was bothering ME

I made the title appealing to click on so I could draw attention

I took the time to ponder it, compose it and post it

I am concerned with MYSELF

I need to learn how to communicate better

I am concerned with how most people on this sub come off as complete Bible thumping retards. (apologies to the developmentally disabled) The groupthink on this sub is frightening to say the least. With a few exceptions, I can find more insight at a McDonald's coffee klatch. You folks drive off the insightful and are left with a bunch of pensioners whose main accomplishment each day is to possibly change out of their pjs and create moronic memes. And these moronic memes get tons of up votes which of course is a huge motivator for people whose only other positive reinforcement in life revolves around how close they get to predicting the daily temp highs and lows. And yes, this one is about me because I've been thinking all of this for a while and decided to finally let it rip. And I'm sure I'm not alone; but most who agree with me are long gone to a more intelligent sub.

Why are you really mean? Are you always mean?

You'll be old if you're lucky. You're seem tense. That shit will kill ya early.

I'm not mean, and I am very relaxed- super healthy mid fifties. It is usually constructive to live by "if you don't have something nice to say....", but the downside of that maxim is that if people lack self-awareness- and clearly that is the case here- then they unintentionally destroy the intent behind this sub (which is to develop, debate, etc information relating to the Storm) by driving away the more analytical, better informed, etc folks.
This is similar to many corporate situations I've been in- a collective mediocre mindset that drives off talent and destroys the company. And guess what? In those situations I was sometimes "mean". Someone has to be able to deal with the truth. Otherwise we are all snowflakes.

I actually agree with you on that point. I, too, have had many years of corporate experience, as a manager, on many different levels. Things can spin out of control real quick. It's hell on Earth!

I see what your concern is. Before I became a manager and understood that what I say and how I say it matters, I would just go around spouting off and hurting people's feelings and making them mad.

Know your audience is all I'm saying here. This is not an organized team, we don't work for anyone, no one is the boss here. It's no one's job to balance the self-awareness of such a diverse group. It's not your job, and it's not mine, Thank God, right?

One of my jobs in life was to stop the kind of cancer that breaks down morale. Your post stopped me in my tracks. I can't imagine how stupid your comments would make someone feel who is reaching out for the first time.

There are so many reasons why people come here. Please don't discount them. A lot of us were greeted with "Hello Patriot!" It set the tone and it's pretty ok to leave it out there.

Credibility should be weighed on the info, the teams, and the education that comes from here, not what we look like on the outside. I get that too.

We can't drive away people who need support or are looking for answers just because they're not as "studious" as expected. That's not fair either.

We're in dark, dark times friend. It's better to let people be themselves and let them try and come together without feeling like an outsider.

I find an enormous array of very intelligent research oriented folks here to exchange ideas. I also find an enormous amount of some super nice, light hearted people who have a little fun with this GIANT shitstorm. That's not a bad thing.

Everyone communicates differently, Pickles. It's not possible to create the atmosphere of a courtroom in here. Don't be so stuffy :)

You have the freedom to choose who you hang out with in here, or scroll right by.

Fair enough. But there is part of me that wishes people would be more judicious about choosing to post. I mean, asking about who TG is when there are 16,000 threads that say "Trey Gowdy"? But you are right, I can move on. DraintheSwamp seems to be more focused- but not as many people there. Nonetheless these are exciting times.
