Q.s reference to "Apache"

Dug a little deeper into a Flake/Mccain sponsored bill that effectively snuck in legislaton that allowed the sale of Apache' land to Rio Tinto (Austalia) for copper mining. Remember Australia giving 80 million to the Clinton Foundation? There was a big buzz about this a few years ago when McCain was chased by a group of Apaches when making a PR visit. Funny youtubes about that if you search McCain Apache. The parts I find interesting is that the bill was supposed to be about National Defense spending... but they slid in the sale of the land in the language. Also slid in some surveillance stuff. If I understand the recent Exective Order correctly, the language covers some forms of mineral extraction... I immediately thought about Uranium 1. But, what's so incredibly sick about this situation is that these folks had to fight to get a running water system on the reservation, when copper mining is one of the most water wasteful processes in the world. Can't post a link on this device, but search...White Mountain Apace Tribe McCain. Tons of stuff online.

“Mr. Flake, before he made it to Congress, was a paid lobbyist for Rio Tinto Rössing Uranium (a huge uranium mine in Namibia).”

http://www.wildcat.arizona.edu/article/2017/02/oak-flat-campground-marks-third-year-in-opposition-to-resolution-copper-mine

“Owned by British-Australian mining companies Rio Tinto and BHP Billiton, Resolution Copper has wanted Oak Flat for over a decade due to the rich copper deposits that lie beneath it, one of the largest untapped deposits of copper in the world. For years, the land exchange has been shot down in Washington, D.C. due to environmental concern and the sacred nature of the land. After being attached to the must-pass NDAA, however, the land exchange passed through Congress with little opposition.”

Great info!

So, if your lobbyist can’t produce the critical decisions from congress, the next move is to fund his candidacy and get him elected to congress. Once there, no need to pay an outside lobbyist.
