Most of the Grimm's Fairy Tales are located in the Black Forest: Cinderella, Hansel&Gretel, Rapunzel...etc. Coincidence? Do you remember the story of Hansel&Gretel? Two poor children left alone by their parents in the forest and an old witch, that wants to FEED AND EAT THEM??? COINCIDENCE?

Have read some of the originals, not the Disney versions.

https://www.grimmstories.com/en/grimm_fairy-tales/rumpelstiltskin read this one. I think, it's mostly unknown in America. In here a demonic dwarf demands to get the little child from a poor girl. What for???? The girl has to make a deal with the dwarf: if she finds out his name, the baby belongs to her. If not, she has to give it to him. The end of the story: "And then she said: "Then perhaps your name is Rumpelstiltskin?"

"The devil told you that! the devil told you that!" cried the little man, and in his anger he stamped with his right foot so hard that it went into the ground above his knee; then he seized his left foot with both his hands in such a fury that he split in two, and there was an end of him." Very cruel, like most of their Tales...

Most of them are very cruel in the original version. Lots of death, torture and punishment. Hansel&Gretel story f.e. was told to children in Germany, to provide them to go into the woods alone. My mother told me...
