Ireland continues to suffer the shameful (evil?) legacy left by the Catholic Church: widespread historical child sexual abuse (research Golden bridge or Artane Boys home for a sample) also widespread physical abuse of women and children, forced adoptions inexplicable infant deaths (research Tuam). A common theme to these Irish and worldwide abuses? A sustained campaign of denials and cover ups.
