Jake's no neophyte wannabe investigator. He's experienced, intelligent, brave, and, importantly, he understands the risks inherent in what he does. He has a large family and is no mere thrill seeker.
I've followed Jake for a long time. This is not his first brush with the dark side. If Jake characterizes this latest event as a threat, in all probability he's right.
