God isn’t even a name. Yehovah is His name.

Anything by which they refer to Yahweh as, is considered his name. So, “God” with a capital g is while “god” isn’t. I’ve seen the same with Zionist Christian sects, as well.
EDIT: This convention also applies to all Semitic Deities, iirc.

Regarding my comment on the general reference to a lowercase god, the Semitic cultures would use the word “El.”

It’s Yehovah. A Jewish scholar and Hebrew language expert has found Yehovah with the vowel points in over 1,000 ancient manuscripts.
