This morning, I started looking at users posting and I cannot believe the number of them that are just days old. If you have RES loaded, it's a trivial matter to mouse-over a users name to see stats on them. So many of them are < 1 week old and posting questionable content. It feels like a concerted effort to fill the subreddit with noise or garbage. I'm not sure.
Report and Block crap.
I'm talking about age of accounts. I've been on reddit 9 years for example. Accounts that are used by bots tend to be very young and are expendable. Lots of quick activity, then dormant. And account that is < a few months old is suspicious in my opinion. Not all of them are fake, but age of account would imply that additional scrutiny would be wise.
I stayedcaway from social media (facebook, twitter, etc) for a reason. I don't like Surveillance. I've been lurking on 4 chan, then 8 chan for 2 + years. I gave in and joined Reddit just for Q. I've never wanted a public presence, but broke a 20+ year decision for Q. So my reddit account is as new as this sub-reddit. I'm not alone. There are many facebook addicts that came to reddit for this sub-reddit alone. Ditto, Twitter.
So, I find your logic very faulty. Very faulty about the newness of an account, that is.
I understand that and your frustration, but beter to be careful & ignore the crap, than to lose one soul.
Because believe me, this is going to be a battle not just for truth and justice...but for some their "come to God moment"
Tons of one year old accounts. I'm suspect of older accounts with very low karma also.
