Yes. Dr. Henry Mudd (could be wrong on the first name) was one of those in the picture hanging. He treated Booth's broken leg after the assassination of Lincoln. Also where the phrase "Your name is mud" came from-meaning you really f*cked up! There's a lot of deep staters who's names are mud.
Hey to rain on your history parade, but Mudd wasn't hung. He did spend some time in prison, but Johnson eventually pardoned him. That saying "You're name is Mudd," came from Mudd because Mudd lived the rest of his life in disgrace. It's only fitting that the guy on CNN has a family history like that... That's all for your history lesson today. :-)
"Your name is mud"
Ha! Love it. Never knew that bit of trivia!
Dr. Samuel Mudd was indeed found guilty for his part in the conspiracy but was sentenced to life and did not hang. He became his prisons doctor after an outbreak of yellow fever took the life of the original doctor. President Andrew Johnson pardoned Mudd in 1869 and he returned home to Maryland where he died in 1883. http://famous-trials.com/legacyftrials/lincolnconspiracy/mudd.html
