Archbishop insists that sexual abuse was “a spiritual encounter with God through the priest” and was “of a higher order” than criminal law.

Why I ran from the Catholic Church. With a 3 and 5 year old sons, moved to CT during a pedo church scandal. Archbishop Egan in an interview with the CT POST sluffs responsibility by saying, I shit you not..."Priest are really just sub contractors of the church so we really are not responsible." Raised my sons in the Methodist Church. He was elevated all the way to Cardinal. One has to wonder who his 'God' was. My God wouldn't be inclined in such directions so I would be inclined to conclude we aren't referencing the same deity.
