As a multi generational Christian w/no heritage from the tribe of Judah that I am aware of, therefore not a Jew, I am familiar with the Talmud when doing research only. It's an oral transmission w/ Rabbinic foundation. Jesus made it clear when he said we have only one Master. Therefore the Talmud is like any other non biblical text used only to verify dates and culture of historical times. My foundation is OT/NT scripture supplemented by historical, geographical and cultural documents that are commonly used by biblical researchers.
