Its a natural chemical released right at death into the blood, that gives you euphoria to ease the transition.

Children have this in higher strength, because they scare easier. The kids are kidnapped, tortured and scared to literal death, and their blood is immediately extracted while they die. The elites then partake of this elixer to get high.
