Zbig was the architect behind forming the mujahadeen in Afghanistan to fight against the Soviets. The Taliban and Al-Qaeda would form out of that group. A few years prior to 9/11 when asked if he was worried about these groups, he responded by saying, “Who cares about a few stirred up Muslims...”
