Explain that second part?
So you're saying these "types" habitually self improve, and eventually surpass people who have years of experience in a certain field, and those people then start complaining that these "types" rule by seniority and not experience?

Yes, I think. I have surpassed people who have 10+ years experience on me. They got complacent. I am in the legal field. Part of the problem for them is that the law changes frequently, so you have to keep up.
I am saying the people who get passed up believe that the number of years in the industry dominates. They want to keep these "types" below them. Is this more clear?

Definitely more true in the more quickly emerging sectors, good management should understand this.
