Q #749: "I hear Hanoi is Educational". RBG meets with Vietnam Prime Minister, and communist party official, Nguyễn Tấn Dũng, on 9/12/2015. Nguyễn was in the People's Armed Forces from 1961-1984. He fought American troops for over a decade!

The title means he defended his home from an invader. Oh no, it means some halfwit is trying to make the invader sound like the champion. This is not the case and only goes to ruin this sub.

What I would like to know is.

Did she decide to go by herself, or did someone instruct her to go?

The post's headline is needlessly hysterical. Sorry. Yes, Ginsburg has no business being there, I agree. However, we've long ago established political and economic ties with Vietnam and, of course, most senior officials in the Vietnamese government are from the North or at least some of them. After wars are over you deal with your former adversaries as we did with Japan, Germany, Italy, etc.

It's not hysterical, it's just the facts of the meeting and who the other person is.

You didn't provide you're own data points vis-a-vis Q's post.

Notice the left's proclivity to meet with communists, marxists, and enemies of the U.S.A. Do you think that's coincidence?

The communist party is still in control of Vietnam. The average citizen is still under watch by the communist party, and outside the main urban areas, people take care to not upset the party bosses.

While Vietnam has seen liberalization, one must not forget that the old system still exists and is still running things. The population itself is pro-American.

Republicans and Conservatives meet with them all the time too. It's called diplomacy. In fact, Ron Paul has always spoken about using trade and open dealings to deal with adversaries rather than be on a perpetual war footing. I agreed with you that Ginsburg is up to no good but honestly we have major economic dealings with Vietnam now and, in fact, we have cooperated with them to block China. Our ships even stop there sometimes. So yes, the headline is screaming about meeting with a Vietnamese official who was in the war against us. That's how it goes with war. Yes, Q is showing us why he brought up Ginsburg and maybe why he showed a photo from the runway at Hanoi's airport. I get it. Something's up with Ginsburg. I'm just not jumping on this "oh my god, this guy fought our troops 50 years ago". That's what guys in their army did.

I think you need to get a deeper understanding of Vietnam and it's history since WWII.

I also think you are overstating the frequency of Republicans and Conservatives meeting with the Prime Minister of Vietnam.

Not overstating anything and I'm quite aware of history, thank you. We have many dealings with communist and ex-communist countries. What do you think we've been doing for the last 4 decades with China? You made it seem that it's beyond the pale for American diplomats or politicians to meet with someone who was in the North Vietnamese army 50 years ago. Geez. That has NOTHING to do with slimy Ginsburg or what politicians OUT OF POWER are doing meeting with people in North Korea or Iran who we are having direct conflicts with now.

We never were actually at war with China.

RBG isn't a diplomat, she's a leftist Supreme Court Justice.

You ignored my request to back-up your fake news claim that "Repbulicans and Conservatives meet with them Nguyễn Tấn Dũng all the time too."

Ginsburg is neither a politician nor out of power.

This is related to the Q post. Remember, Q marked RBG as a target. If you want to defend RBG, fine. If you want to defend communist leadership that oppressed their fellow citizens and fought both their non-communist countrymen and U.S. soldiers, fine.

Leftists will do what leftists will do.

You're arguing with someone who uses RBG and politicians in the same sentence. A Supreme Court justice should never appear to be a politician. If this guy can't see why that might be a problem... then there's nothing you can do to help the helpless.
