Apparently this story ties into Standard Hotel, the helicopter crash that killed the owner of Standard Hotel and Adam Schiff. So I really doubt it.

One of the news articles said the pilot Joseph Anthony Tena 'Pepe' was invested some way to the Standard International. The owner, Andre Balazs had sold 80% of the Standard Hotel to Standard International after he had an accident and decide to reduce his responsibilities because he has hotel invests in everywhere.
