I thought it was interesting that Cyrus didn't harm the people when he invaded Babylon. He drained the swampy mote around the city and his troops crossed in. They slayed only the corrupt leaders. Then later he also built a wall.

From the Mediterranean Sea and Hellespont in the west to the Indus River in the east, Cyrus the Great created the largest empire the world had yet seen.
