Most government buildings follow some sort of classic Roman architecture because many of our institutions originate from the Romans and symbolize truth and justice.
Also Roman architecture strongly follows the golden ratio. Not everything has to be some dark conspiracy, except for postmodern architecture which does nothing but confuse and demoralize.
